    Most bizzarre thing that happened

This I gotta tell you, this is experience I never had before ...
Have you ever had police stand right beside you ready to arrest or bring someone to the station while you're ordering your food ?
The other night, Maggie and I was at the local hawker , selling skewered BBQ lamb meat.
The police car pulled up right behind us.. couple of senior cops came out and stood beside us, eyeing at the hawker fanning away the fire on our order. The police then said rudely to the guy, "hey you, close the store, come back with us to the station! " I'm thinking like what the heck  happened ? The police said to the guy, "did you see 2 guys fighting?" Apparently one of the fighters got slashed at the back of the head while fighting right in front of the hawker store. The police even accuse the seller has loaned his knife one to the guys that cause the injury. The most senior policeman appeared impatient, and asked the seller to put out the fire, come with them to the station. We eyed at our meat on the fire, the policeman then turn to me and said politely, "are those meat your order?" I nodded. The senior policeman then said to the seller "hey , finish up their order, then shut the store, come in with us for statement". I was like "oo--kay.. so we are waiting for our order from someone that's been waited on to be taken to the police station..should we continue waiting? Is this right to have someone work before being put into the police-car to go for question?"  Open-mouthed

It was bizzarre, let me tell you. We did let the guy finish up his job and had the skewered BBQ meat. Tasted tasty though..

The very next day we see him in business again, we are happy to see he's alright.. he was back in business and he saw us and smiled. All is alright again :)

    Fears of Human

I was listening to audio book of Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. It said on there there's 6 basic fear which every human suffer at one time or other. Other fears are made up of this 6 basic fears. We need to guard ourselves against in order to be successful and reach our financial goals, business, social , etc . Here it is :

6 basic fears in the order of common appearance-
    fear of
    1. poverty
    2. criticism
    3. lost of love of someone
    4. old age
    5. death
    6. ill health

The book mentioned: "All creation starts from thought. All thought has tendency to clothed  itself into the physical equivalent" -
therefore, the book said, man needs to guard against these 6 fears and here's the way to do it :

    Fear of
Poverty    - make decision to get along with whatever wealth you can accumulate without worry
criticism         - make decision not to worry of what other people think, do or say
old  age         - make decision to accept it not as a handicap but as a great blessing that carries with it wisdom, self control and understanding unknown to you
ill health          - make decision to forget symptoms
lost of love       - to get along be without love if necessary
worry of death  - accept this as an in-escapable event

The book advised listeners "to kill the worry of all forms by making a blanket decision that nothing that life has to offer is worth price of worry.  Without all this worries, a man will have peace of mind and calmness of thought which will bring happiness."

I recommend that one buys the book to read as it is highly useful.
The book also mentioned in order to protect yourself against negative influence - recognize you have willpower so you can build wall that immunize your mind against all negative thoughts.

Day 2 of Beijing Olympics 2008

This weekend seems so long , which was great. Friday was made a Beijing holiday to ease traffic, decrease pollution and other factors. So Friday was day I relaxed at home, except got a call about work Crying.
Now Friday, that was something - 8/8/08.. What a day! It was day where China hosted the Opening Ceremony of Olympics. It was the day when China stand shoulder to shoulder with the other worlds that hosted this event that unites the world and showcases the best athletes found anywhere on earth !
The Opening Ceremony by Zhang Yi Mou was spectacular, I'd say the best opening event I saw in any of the previous. Zhang , the whole 14,000 performers that did their best to bring 5000 years of Chinese history to the foreground. It's the event where it showcases the Middle Kingdom contributed to humankind from ancient inventions like paper,  compass to modern out of this world space exploration endeavors. The part where they have 2008 men/army (yes, that's two thousand and eight personnel) on stage performing the countdown via coordinated/synchronized effort, it's truly amazing!!
Spending time with Katherine/Vince at their place for the countdown with Maggie was awesome. It took my memories back to the beginning, where Maggie and I moved to Beijing and Katherine and Vince showed us hospitality by hosting us for a few days at their abode. I'm touched by the memories of how we began.
We ate Yunnan food, had Pizza hut pizza, red wine fruit punch, white wine, lots of white wine. Party started when the flame was lit, we just hung out with Vince and Kat's friends, chat, laughed, ate and drank some more wine.. it was great! Many thanks for etching this wonderful memory, Vince and Katherine !! Your kindheartedness and sincerity is truly  awe inspiring.

Saturday I worked, not had to, but  moved up a few notch by taking action on some idea I had with Maggie. It was Oly mpic service-industry themed. We hope this venture turns out to be great. Will update if it does :) I stayed out working till about 11 pm last night. Right now, busting my butt on this spare-time endeavor.

Sunday - worked some more on this project. Had some initial success in putting communication lines out to share on the vision. Due to rain, I didn't stay out too late. Funny thing happened at World Trade Center. I had to use the male restroom,  so I went to one of the W.C, closed the door behind me and did my thing right. Then, some lady voice come knocking on my door and I was like "someone's in here" , I hear she shriek "eeii.. guy" .. I was thinking to myself.. "gosh, what do you expect, it's a male toilet!" Then after I'm done, I came out and saw another lady freshening up herself, doing her hair, something of that sort. Then it dawned on me, "I STEPPED IN A LADY's WASHROOM!!" .. I just sneaked my way out after apologizing to the 2nd lady , obviously quite embarrassed about not checking  which room I went into :) It is quite funny to think about it now, hahah. Open-mouthed

    Clean air/blue skies

You know, I'm so grateful to see blue skies with fluffy white clouds up in Beijing skies today. Olympics has really helped the city to be great in terms of environment. How many cars are off the road by law and by volunteer effort and how many factories were shut to gain this effect I wouldn't know. But it's really great to see this can be accomplished and is accomplished. I think the air is probably at its best comparable to decades ago.. maybe at times when bicycles were main modes of transport and people live within hydrocarbon means not to pollute as much.

Well done Beijing ! It's not a small feat and I admire the effort.
